Common Questions

Who are we?

PetsDx is a group of energetic individuals committed to providing family veterinarians, their clients, and their pets with state-of-the-art veterinary imaging services. Our Hope Center facility is fully staffed with an experienced veterinarian, CT technologist and veterinary technicians. Board certified veterinary radiologists with advanced training in CT will review each study and provide detailed study interpretations.

Why use PetsDx?

At PetsDx in Vienna, we focus solely on imaging veterinary patients with CT. This specialized service allows us to provide the answers you need while primary care and case management rest with the family veterinarian. Because we are conveniently located in Vienna, we offer outpatient image service to give you those answers in a timely fashion. PetsDx employees have extensive experience in veterinary medicine, magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography. At PetsDx, we have over 50 years of experience in CT. You can rest assured that you are getting the highest quality care and imaging services from PetsDx.

What to expect when using PetsDx

We see cases primarily on a referral basis. In most cases, a patient can be scheduled for a CT within a day or two. Same day appointments, after hours, weekends and holidays may be available and are handled on a case by case basis. Because we focus solely on CT, clients must meet with their family veterinarian for a detailed case work-up before meeting with us. On the day of the imaging study, clients may wait for their pet or drop their pet off and return in 3-4 hrs to pick them up. Clients will meet with the PetsDx veterinarian to discuss the procedure and anesthetic risks when they bring their pet for the study. Every patient receives a complete physical exam and review of lab work in order to develop an appropriate anesthetic protocol. Anesthetic time for an imaging study usually ranges from 15-30 minutes. Once recovered from anesthesia, patients are discharged to their owner to return home or back to the veterinarian overseeing the case and treatment.

We understand the value of time, so in most cases, test results are available to the family veterinarian 24 hours after the completion of the study. Urgent cases can be evaluated within an hour so these patients can receive treatment as rapidly as possible. Case management is left to the family veterinarian’s discretion.

We at PetsDx are very excited about the opportunity to work together with local veterinarians to offer access to advanced veterinary imaging and consultation service at a reasonable cost. We are happy to meet visitors and a tour of the facility can be made available by appointment. Likewise, we are pleased to answer any questions you may have.
